What was the starting point that led you to the world of Live Wedding Painting?
View has always been passionate about art, but the real spark of inspiration came when she saw the work of a Thai artist on social media, where he was painting at a wedding. View immediately fell in love with the romantic moment and dreamed of one day sitting in that same spot, painting a couple on their special day.
Although she wasn’t married at that time, being surrounded by the warmth and love of the people around her made her heart full. Plus, seeing the Live Wedding Painting style from abroad, where guests would express their emotions about the artwork, made View eager to be a part of someone’s special day and contribute happiness through her work for both the artist and the guests.
How do you approach the work process?
Clients typically start by contacting View for availability. She provides details on the size, time required, and pricing for each artwork, helping clients choose based on their preferences.
As the event approaches, View asks for additional information about the couple, such as photos, Instagram accounts, or details like their pets or favorite colors to incorporate into the painting. If it's a booking made by a bridesmaid or family member, View will gather the details herself to ensure the painting is as meaningful as possible.
What are the sizes and time frames for your paintings?
Smallest size: 40 x 60 cm, requiring approximately 3-4 hours.
Largest size: 90 x 120 cm (no live painting, but based on photos), taking about 6-8 hours or more depending on the complexity of the work.
What is the most memorable moment you've had painting at a wedding?
The smiles of the guests who walk up to see the artwork are the most memorable for View. Every moment at the wedding is filled with joy, warmth, and sincerity, which naturally translates into the canvas.
What inspired you to involve the guests in enhancing the painting?
This idea came from seeing other events where guests write messages in a guestbook or on keepsakes. View thought it could be applied to live wedding painting as well to create a sense of participation and add meaningful memories. When the bride and groom's relatives or friends contribute to the artwork, it becomes not just the artist’s painting but a collective memory of everyone involved.
What is the greatest challenge of this profession?
Time is the biggest challenge. Live wedding painting requires speed and precision. View shared that she initially thought she could work leisurely, but as her skills improved, the details increased, requiring more careful time planning. Especially for Thai weddings, where the morning and evening events are separate, there is less time compared to international weddings.
